News of the Centre
During the past period the Centre has witnessed the following activities:-
· With the aid of advanced modern technologies in the service of
university education, the centre developed a scheme involving
most of university academic and educational bodies having to do
with university education – male/female students as well as other
equally concerned parties.
· Helped staff members in the educational process through a preset
scheme for fulfilling academic and technological objectives.
· Undertook the documentation of discussion sessions related to
MSc. and other graduate dissertation presentations via special
display rooms and theatres equipped with advanced engineering and
technological aids.
· The Centre uses modern state of the art computer allied technology,
computer networks, remote learning media and e –education.
· The Centre transmits sound and deliberations from Eleishah (female)
university campus to the university main campus at Dirreyah in a good
technical and technological manner and makes interaction easy
through optical fiber network as well as transmitting through the
microwave similar actions from Eleishah and Malaz to the university
main campus at Dirreyah.
· Also transmitting lectures given to the students in the university main
campus at Dirreyah to the female lecture rooms at Eleishah and Malaz.
· These lectures may be recorded and transmitted later as can be
arranged by the lecture rooms schedules at Eleishah and Malaz.
This naturally alleviates the university worry of the shortage in
female staff.
· Transmit minutes of meetings held in Building 19 at the university
main campus directly for the studies centre at Eleishah and Malaz.
· Teleconference meetings and discussions between widely spread sites
across the university.
· Arrange for organizing training seminars and programs for academic
staff and lecturers on the use of computers and prepare for such
sessions as to assist academic staff in the processes of planning ,
production ,teaching and course evaluation through direct or remote
education which leads to promoting academic staff teaching skills.
· Planning and orientation for training academic staff, lecturers and
students on education technology systems.
· On 1/4/1428H the university council issued a decision approving
establishing a deanship for e-education and remote learning.
· The deanship conducted training sessions and workshops during last summer and at the beginning of the current semester on
'e-education and remote learning '.These sessions were opened by his Excellency the Rector of King Saud University.
