At present, King Saud University, has expressed its vision to achieve global leadership through a partnership to build a knowledge society and is undergoing a transformation to be a leading research university.

Over the past three years, KSU has launched a number of programs to conform to this vision including:

1 - Research Chairs program.
2 - Riyadh Techno Valley.
4 - Global center for Innovation and Invention.
5 - International Twinning Program.

These programs require a large number of distinguished researchers than is currently available within the university. Therefore,KSU has adopted brain circulation and knowledge sharing as agoal summerized by the first letters of KSU as knowledge sharing university.
Moreover,KSU has launched programs and initiative to bridge the gap in human resources for research and development that take advantage of the future in the place of origin including the:

1 - Nobel laureates Program at King Saud University.
2 - Distinguished Scientist felllowship program.
3 - International program for reseach Scholars.
4 - Vissiting professor program.

KSU seeks through these programs to attract distinguished reseachers to work side by side with researchers at the university.
Hence, KSU is inviting visiting professors to serve these purposes and achieve a number of outputs, including but not limited to the following:

1 - Collaboration with KSU researchers in the transfer of
     technology to serve development in Saudi Arabia.
2 - Collaboration with KSU researchers to file patents.
3 - Collaboration with KSU researchersfor scientific
     publishing in international peer previewed journals.
4 - participation in the supervision of graduate students.
5 - participation in giving lectures or teaching specialized
     graduate courses during the visits specified in the
     contract.
6 - Exchange and recruitment of graduat students and
     researchers to KSU.
