A World Expert in Stem Cells Research Lecturing
at King Saud University
Within the framework of implementing the service contract Agreement signed between King Saud University and the University of South Denmark, the Department of Anatomy in the College of Medicine at King Saud University organized a scientific lecture titled “Reconstructing Stem Cells: A new therapy for the 21st Century”. The lecture was given by Professor Mustafa Saad Addine Kassem, a world expert in stem cells research and the founder of the Stem Cells Unit in Adonissa University Hospital in Denmark. The lecture was attended by the Dean of the College of Medicine, Dr. Msaed Al Salman, faculty members, researchers and students.
Dr. Kassem gave another lecture at the College of Science in the Female Students' Section as well. This came in the context of the University’s strategy to enhance scientific research and expertise in the Section.
It is worth-mentioning that the Department of Anatomy in the College of Medicine at King Saud University is considered one of the most affluent of its kind in scientific research, as it was the founder of the first stem cells research lab in the Middle East. The lab is run by a select number of Saudi elite scholars in the field. It should also be noted that the Department had previously received support in its research endeavors from King Abdulaziz City for Sciences and Technology and King Saud University.
