His Excellency, Dr. Al Othman and Sheikh Al Amoodi Inaugurated a Research Chair in the Field of Petroleum at King Saud University.

His Excellency, Professor Abdullah bin Abdurrahman Al Othman, King Saud University Rector and Sheikh Mohamed bin Hussein Al Amoodi, the Saudi businessman, inaugurated yesterday morning Sheikh Al Amoodi's Research Chair in the field of petroleum, in the College of Engineering at King Saud University.
During the inauguration ceremony, two lectures were presented. The first one titled 'Locating the Pores Resulting from Cracks Using Oil Wells Testing Analysis'. It was presented by Professor Jabbar Tayeb, Director of the World Program for Petroleum Engineering Graduates at Oklahoma University in the USA. The second lecture titled 'Methods of Improved Extraction to Increase Production from Oil Wells' was presented by Dr. Janish Takoor, the international advisor at the Chevron Company.
The two lectures were attended by a large audience of teaching staff members of teaching staff members, post-graduate students at the university, as well as others interested in the field of petroleum studied.
In his speech, Dr. Al Othman expressed his gratitude to Sheikh Al Amoodi for sponsoring three research chairs at the University, one in the field of medicine, another in the field of water, and the third in the field of petroleum.
Dr. Al Othman also stressed the importance of the Research Chairs Program recently launched by the University, and the pride of the College of Engineering to be the active and privileged partner for the development and modernization witnessed by the University in order to promote the Kingdom's economic position. The Rector also referred to the generous support and donations provided by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, His Royal Highness the Crown-Prince, and by loyal businessman like Sheikh Al Amoodi, for the Research Chairs Program.
On his side, Dr. Mohamed Mussa Amro, Supervisor of Sheikh Al Amoodi's Chair for Petroleum Research referred to the importance of this chair, and the domains it will serve, as well as to the importance of petroleum in the Saudi national economy. . Dr. Amro extended his thanks to Professor Al Ghamdi and to his colleagues in the Chair's Technical Commission, as well as to other prominent professors at the Department of Petroleum and Gas.
Following the inauguration of the chair, the University Trophy was presented to Sheikh Al Amoodi for all the support he provided for the University.
