Owing to the sensitive role of this unit, it is expected to play some administrative and technical roles at the Deputy Rectorate.
· Providing technical support to the members of the Deputy Rectorate (such as setting up a computer, installing a printer, installing and upgrading various programs, solving virus-related problems, etc.).
· Providing surfing support to the members of the Deputy Rectorate (such as searching the Internet for programs of interest to Deputy Rectorate).
· Training the members of the Deputy Rectorate on main programs in use (such as Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, Internet, etc.).
· Monitoring the website of the Deputy Rectorate and all its units and programs.
· Maintaining preventively and cyclically computers and consumables at the Deputy Rectorate.
· Evaluating the Deputy Rectorate’s needs in computers and any technical problems, and advising to ensure their acquisition.
· Publicizing for bids to acquire technical equipment, and reporting their outcome to whoever it may concern to execute them.
· Drafting special studies related to proposed developmental projects, especially in the technical field, in view of serving the interests of the University in particular and those of the Deputy Rectorate in particular.
· Supervising the elaboration of various databases required for the conduct of work at the Deputy Rectorate, and ensuring the follow-up of each related database (see attached some databases suggested to the Deputy Rectorate).
· Archiving the Deputy Rectorate’s documents and transactions, and making them available to the user to facilitate their circulation among whoever may be concerned.
· Following up on the Deputy Rectorate’s own emails, dispatching correspondence to various parties, and receiving and distributing incoming emails by specialty.
· Archiving incoming and outgoing transactions and storing electronic copies from them to facilitate and speed up re-using them, when need be, by members of the Deputy Rectorate in collaboration with the Center for Administrative Communication at the Deputy Rectorate.
· Using PowerPoint in making available the special offers of the Deputy Rectorate.
· Targeting the required technical staff, and reviewing their CV.
