Vice Dean's Message

We are honored in the Deanship of Graduate Studies to provide services to the local society via making available the appropriate academic environment for the graduate student, being one of the most indispensable underpinnings of scientific research. The Deanship, hence, constantly endeavors to develop its academic duties related to graduate students: admission procedures, registration process and graduation procedures. The Deanship is also keen to adopt electronic procedures to execute most of the duties aiming to reduce routine procedures so that such procedures can become easier for students as well as for various academic units. Furthermore, the Deanship, attempts, side by side with the diverse units in King Saud University, to avail itself, to the optimum, of the University potentials in sustaining and developing all aspects of graduate studies.

The Vice Deanship communicates with academic departments in different colleges in the University so as to motivate them to develop the current graduate programs as well as initiate programs appropriate for developments and challenges currently facing the labor market in the Saudi society. Thus, the Quality and Development Unit in the University, undertakes the creation of standards and criteria necessary to evaluate and review the graduate programs that harmonize available potentials and the various needs of the local society. In this respect, the Deanship attempts to take advantage of the expertise of world universities in developing the graduate programs.

As it is very important for graduate students to communicate with the Deanship, I would like to urge them to participate in the Student Council of the Deanship of Graduate Studies through their representatives selected from the colleges as well as through emailing the Deanship their suggestions and enquiries.
