Dean's Message

 
The Deanship of Admission and Registration is considered one of the most important channels of communication between university and community, and with its services has moved beyond the traditional boundaries, and no longer is limited to the activities and administrative and technical work within the boundaries of Deanship. As a front of university fronts, the deanship has become meeting the public and on its doors, the university life of the student begins and continues the follow-up academically and overcomes obstacles facing him until graduation, armed with knowledge and so to contribute in building nation with what he has gained of knowledge and skills during his years of study.

And from its leading role, the deanship carries on its shoulder the task of providing adequate information about the university, faculties and specializations, the various conditions for admission and allows student understand the necessary rules and regulations which are needed during his years of study such as study rules, tests, rewards and others. It also keeps communicating and interacting with student starting from high school through distributing brochures and manuals and visiting some schools in the Riyadh region and other regions in order to publicize the university and its faculties. It also receives students and visitors from various schools on a continuous basis. Deanship is seeking to follow up on recent developments in the admission and registration procedures and keep abreast of new technical developments that contribute to the improvement of work mechanism, the accomplishment of tasks, to simplify procedures and to move towards electronic working environment, under the guidance of the wise leadership, to the transition to the application of the concept of electronic government. The academic system is considered one of the largest and most important regulations in the university and the most need of modernization and development in terms of programs establishment, maintenance or amendment in accordance with the academic changes within the university. Deanship and in collaboration with the General Administration of computer and information systems has implemented many of deanship technical requirements, such as the establishment of sub-programs, the amendment of number of programs and screens and their maintenance, in addition to the periodic archiving of old data to ease the burden on the database. Due to the rapid expansion of the University through opening new faculties within the city of Riyadh and outside it, the deanship has to keep pace with this expansion through developing and modernizing the academic information management system, and the support sub-systems such as the immediate acceptance and electronic registration system, the automated registration system, the academic follow-up system, the monitoring of results, the graduation ceremony, the releasing party and others.

Deanship is making continuous efforts to take advantage of modern technologies to facilitate support operations of university's academic system. In this sense, deanship was the first to establish an internal network of personal computers and linking all its staff, which contributed to enhance the performance of staff and deanship that has helped greatly in speeding and facilitating the completion of work. Deanship has set a goal to take advantage of new technologies to facilitate the needs of students, and it leads the wheel of administrative and technical development of this beating heart within the boundaries of this ancient university, begging God help and guide.
