Scientific Research Deanship was established after issuing the unified board  for the Scientific Research in 1419 H, which helped in structuring the body of this deanship  and its  mission to be an efficient tool in activating the  scientific research movement  inside the university and connect it with the society’s needs. Scientific Research Deanship in the King Saud University supervises seventeen research centers spreading in all university’s colleges. Also Scientific Research Deanship supervising the applied national research programs that supported by the Higher Education Fund for saudi universities, also supervising the yearly donation of  Saudi Arabia basic industries Company (SABIC) which is giving by the company to  support and encourage the Scientific Research.

You might like to know that in its process of development, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has encountered a number of challenges the most eminent of which has been to produce a highly educated Saudi cadre capable of administering a modern highly complicated economy. In the light of this imperative need, the policy of the Saudi government pertinent to higher education has been specified. Realizing the importance of the scientific research and the importance of empowering the society with accredited scientists, the Saudi government has expanded the range of scientific studies and founded a launching pad to produce :

1- Qualified experts who can train prospective individuals
2- Equality in providing education opportunities without prejudice
3- Freedom of choice of a scientific field meant to maximize incentive potentialities

A realization of such objectives would demand an establishment of a wide-range-scope of scientific research. Therefore, the government has made all university departments accessible to staff members and students who are capable of conducting systematic scientific research works to meet the needs of the Saudi society defined basic to planned studies.
