King Saud Science College Calls for Clean Environment

On the significance of the World Environment Day, Department of Botany and Microbiology - King Saud Science College recently engaged in a sustained and highlighted campaign, thru a number of focused brochures and posters, to deeply inspire to keep the environment clean and address the climate crisis.

World environment day is one of the global principal vehicles to highly stimulate the worldwide awareness of the environment and enhance the political attention and action. The theme for WED 2009 is 'Your Planet Needs You-Unite to Combat Climate Change'. It reflects the urgency for nations to confront the current generation challenge.

It's worth to mention that, World Environment Day was established by the UN General Assembly in 1972 to mark the opening of the Stockholm Conference on the Human Environment. Commemorated yearly on 5 June, United Nation General Assembly had ratified and agreed on that day to establish the United Nation Environment Programme in order to provide leadership and encourage partnership in caring for the environment.
