Overview of the Kindergartens: 
They are socio-educational entity established in 1402 to take care of children in terms of the various physical, kinetic, linguistic, cognitive, social and psychological growth to achieve the sound and balanced growth in all these aspects, and to provide the best conditions and potentials to make the utmost use of their abilities.
The Kindergartens Department started with the establishment of a kindergartens in (1402 AH). Then due to its success and to the need of the science and medical studies departments for existence of a kindergarten to serve their staff, a kindergartens was opened during the first semester of the year (1405/1406 AH). These were followed by the opening of a kindergarten in the Humanities Center in Olaisha during the second semester of the academic year (1405/1406 AH).

The kindergartens serve children of varying ages, as they accept children from the age of two weeks until the age of two and a half years in the nursery stage, and they accept children aged from two and a half years to four years in beginner and advanced nursery school stage. Then the beginning and advanced preparatory stage from four to six years.

They also serve children with special needs, as special classes for children with special needs were established at the end of the year (1410 AH), due to the conviction of kindergarten officials about the right of this group to participate and engage effectively in the community through integration with their peers of normal children.

They also serve children with special needs, as special classes for children with special needs were established at the end of the year (1410 AH), due to the conviction of the kindergarten officials about the right of this group to participate and engage effectively in the community through integration with their peers of normal children

 Objectives of the kindergartens: 

The University Kindergartens seek to achieve the objectives of upbringing and educating children in pre-school stage as stated by the education policy in Saudi Arabia, stemming from the values of Saudi society and the principles of Islam.

In addition to these objectives, the kindergarten aimed at the following:
1 - To provide an educational atmosphere for the children of its employees during the working hours of the kindergartens.
2 – To develop national feelings and sense of loyalty and belonging and love of cooperation.
3 - To provide a practical atmosphere for training and field studies on the Childhood Research carried out by the academic and education departments in King Saud University.
4 – To provide an opportunity for children with special needs to integrate with their peers of ordinary children.
