Lecture at Rest Rooms: New Development

Lecture at Rest Rooms: New Development

Development bears some surprises sometimes. Instead of entering a rest room, you might see that you enter a classroom! It is a first development in kind.

With the beginning of this academic year 2008-09,  students of medical science college  were surprised to see maintenance works going on. Students were shifted to Medicine College of King Fahd City, College of Dentistry, and Community College.

"It is a mess up. Everything is turned upside down. The AC is not rolling." said, Student Budor Al-Dewailah.

Complaining against shifting to other places, student Hanan Suliman wondered, "This place is thoroughly different to King Saud University for Medical Sciences College. It is a big difference. No way to run a comparison between this and that."

Laughing at shifting to a location of a literary college, student Asmaa Al-Saleh said, "We are in a  scientific college. How is that we are transferred to a place used by a literary college, the labs of which do not commensurate with our research works. Not to mention that there are no university hospitals."

Asking some officials about the current situation, Dr. Amina Saleh, a faculty member, said, "The maintenance works are excellent. Yet, some works mar a good job. For example, paints, beautifying places, were not re-fixed in their earlier places; computer sets not connected to wall sockets; no smart boards; and no water in rest rooms."

An eye-catching change was a new cafeteria, cafés, buildings to down pressure on major buildings. However, you smell that rest rooms were shifted to classrooms! You feel cold because an AC is not controlled,"

said Dr. Asmaa Al-Sarhan, a Sociology department.

Considering some changes positive and negative, student Fatin AL-Mutairy, said, "The eye-catching changes were setting up new buildings and installing new projectors, yet, they were installed in classrooms for students who do not use them in-class activities."

A speedy solution should be reached to solve these problems which mar the KSU image.
