King Faisal Prize is threshold to Nobel Prize: Al-Uthman

The King Saud University (KSU) hired Professor Günter Blobel , professor of Howard Hughes Medical Institute in Rockville University, New York. The professor bagged the King Faisal International Prize for medicine in 1996 and Noble award in 1999.

In statements after receiving the American professor, Professor Dr. Abdullah Al-Uthman, the President of KSU, said that bagging the King Faisal Prize paves the way to bag the Nobel prize. He gave examples of plenty of scientists who bagged the two prizes and work now for the KSU.

Professor Juntor voiced happiness for conducting researches with the KSU that builds scientific partnership with the USA. “I am here to find a biotech way to control harmful insects,” he said. He stressed the point that the Arab scientists who had immigrated to Europe and the USA should contribute to the development of their communities.
