I learn Arabic to be Muslim Caller: Non-Arab Student

I seek learning Arabic to be a Muslim caller in Kashmir inshaallah (if Allah so wills), says Mohammed Yusuf, a Kashmiri student, in an interview.

Asked about the major of his study, he said, “I preferred joining Islamic studies department in the college of education.”

Asked about what he had studied in Kashmir he said he learned Arabic and Islamic law, adding that there was one school for teaching Arabic and Islamic knowledge at the Salafi College.

Asked about the percentage of those who speak Arabic in Kashmir, he said,”It is no more than 10% because of the Indian control. I hope it goes up within the coming years.”

Describing the study in King Saud University, he said, “It is excellent comparing to my country. It has plenty of equipments and big potentials thanks to Allah Almighty. Professors teach in clear Classic Arabic. This helps improve my Arabic. In Kashmir, they teach Arabic in Urdu and this diminishes Arabic.”

Narrating how he joined King Saud University, Yusuf said after he had graduated from the Salafi College, he sent his papers to the King Saud University but he was not accepted. After five years of strenuous efforts and tireless submission of papers, he was luckily admitted.
