  Nobel Laureate Joins KSU

          An agreement was inked between H.E. Professor Dr. Abdullah Al-Osman, the President of King Saud University (KSU), and Professor Dr. Zekai Şen'in, who won Nobel Prize, 2007. The professor is Prince Sultan Research Chair for Water. He works for Istanbul Technical University (ITU).

            Voicing appreciation to reach an agreement with Professor Zekai Şen'in, Al-Osman said, “I am happy that a Muslim scientist distinguished in his major is on campus now. The KSU shall benefit from his expertise in water and dams, in addition to giving lectures to the undergraduates.

            “I am happy to cooperate with the KSU in water researches and dams. I do praise the enthusiasm I sense from the KSU officials to develop it. I’m optimist that I will do achievements, “ Zekai said.

            On the chair activities, “The chair vision is based on working out mechanisms and programs benefiting from rainwater to the maximum to partially satisfy the severe shortage of water and bridge the gap between supply and demand on water. It shall conduct prime researches on harvesting and reservoir rainwater,” said Dr. Abdul-Malik Al-Alshiekh, the chair
