The workshop discussed the strengths and weaknesses of the university as seen by the employees. The strengths are summed up in having qualified cadres of employees, full integrated infrastructure, attention by the university management towards development, trends towards elearning, various majors, big budgets, distinctive university location, and spacious area of the university.
The weaknesses run as follows: late promotions, lack of harmony between deliverables and labor market, low incentives, no accountability for the negligent, weak training programs, employees leave the university for better opportunities, lack of communication amongst universities, no job descriptions, and employees have no housing or medical allowances.
The challenges lying ahead are: bureaucracy, low level education, the community is not aware of the university role, the lack of strategic planning thought, application of quality system, and fast IT development.
The favorable opportunities are big state budget, cooperation with international universities, political leadership backup, contracting with Nobel laureates, superfluous scholarships, distance learning, and cultural development.
