Productive University
Dr. Mohammed Al-Sedairy
Skills Development Dean
The term Productive University emerged in development processes of universities to further the academic research and enlarge their independence. The productive university concept develops a university-community interaction thru which additional financial resources are earmarked for various academic researches, in addition to their basic mission: the education process.
Adopting this concept, King Saud University (KSU) launched chair programs in tandem with individuals and private sector foundations. It sat up a fund for university endowments and launched projects in collaboration with private sector companies to enhance the academic researches and transform the innovations into investment products driving benefits to the community.
To be productive, the university production depends on its academicians and faculty members who are the most eligible persons to switch the university largely into a productive one. They should hone up their skills and keep up with the recent developments.
As King Saud University worked on enhancing partnerships with the community, it should further the role of faculty members. It should provide them with the academic production accoutrements. This helps them play an overall role in the university, and herein lays the role of skills development deanship. It is in charge of qualifying the faculty members, and furthers the significance of productive faculty members.
