Women Are All Smiling, Too

KSU- Girl Branch
Women at King Saud University (KSU) are happy, too, for the current accomplishments running on campus by Professor Dr. Abdullah Al-Othman, KSU rector. Were our photos posted on Resalah, you would have seen smiles flashing on KSU girl branch. This is in comment to Smiles Flashing on-Campus, a column by Dr. Ali AlKarni, editor-in-chief of Resalah Newspaper. Posted last week, the column drew attention that men put on long face, despite the current achievements on campus. It wondered what woman photos would be, if allowed to be published.
Women are happy now for partaking in the councils of university, departments, and colleges on equal footing with men.
I remember that I asked to partake in the economics department meeting after I was appointed as a professor of economics years ago. I saw no problem, and, unfortunately, could not do after colliding with the by-then surroundings. However, women and men could work together thru committees: higher studies committee, development committee, etc.
This mirrors the integration and incorporation between male and female branches of King Saud University, which does not only make both sexes happy, but also gives women a chance. The chance is to gain a necessary expertise to make the Saudi women partake in the political and economic decisions. This is the new challenge in the coming period.
