The Academic Council, recently, has launched "TARQIAT" Electronic System on the link:
https://eservices.ksu.edu.sa/promotion
It is a software, through which, the faculty member can submit his upgrade application. Such system has implemented by the electronic transactions and communications deanship. The system aims to speed up the documentary cycle and simplify the procedures to apply for upgrade for the faculty members, in addition to building a detailed database about the examiners according to the disciplines. The system also aims to implement the e-governance for the academic upgrade procedures.
"TARQIAT" system is characterized by accuracy in the completion of data required for the upgrade, through the preparation of the application to upgrade by the faculty member applying for upgrade in electronic form, in multiple phases, with the conservation of the data entered in each phase and the amendment to the data at any time as long as they are not sent to the Department Head. It also allows to dispense with hard copies of scientific production by downloading PDF versions of scientific production, and to make sure the application meets the requirements of order automatically, saving time as well as following up the demand and the stages of approval.
Screens have been designed especially for heads of departments and deans of colleges to enable them to enter specific information before sending the request to the College Board or the Standing Committee of the upgrades. The system is designed to allow the export of the application form included with the curriculum vitae of the applicant and a list of scientific output to a PDF file to be printed or displayed on the members of the board of the department or college at the time of discussing the request.
System has taken into account in its design the simplicity and clarity as possible, and it provides a screen to help explain each step of the system, in addition to a special contact number for the technical support of the system.
It is expected that the system may contribute to reduce the time required to decide on the request of the upgrade by the Academic Council, by speeding up the examination process through electronic connectivity with the examiners as well as to dispense with the use of paper applications for the upgrade and the consequent loss of time to send parcels to the examiners. It is expected to save more than twenty-five thousand of paper each year, the system also will save the expenses of mail and correspondence.
The applications have begun to be received electronically through the system for all departments and units of the university from the date of 01.01.1432 H, where several electronic applications arrived to the Committee of Upgrade in the Academic Council.
We call on colleagues of the faculty members to ensure reading the rules and regulations relating to academic upgrading before starting filling the data on the system, and you can take advantage of the site of the Academic Council on the web.We also note the importance of coordination and consultation with the representative of the college in the Academic Council and keeping accuracy in data entry and to benefit from the technical support of the system.
