The idea of establishing a research and consulting institute at King Saud University was crowned with the Royal Decree issued by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Chairman of Higher Education Council in the year 1417H (1997).

This decree aims at rendering KAI-RCS a reference institution responsible for achieving the development of all policies and strategies adopted by the University for the whole society with regard to conducting research and consulting work in manner that serves development objectives and to assume coordination and integration with other research sectors and centers in King Saud University.

The idea of establishing a research and consulting institute at King Saud University was materialized with the Royal Decree of the King of Saudi Arabia and the Chairman of Higher Education Council in 1997. This decree aims at making KAI-RCS a reference institution in charge of implementing and developing all the policies and strategies of KSU in terms of both research and consulting work.
