Dr. Nizar Hussain AlSaleh is the Secretary-General of the National Center for Youth Research at King Saud University. He is also been an Assistant Professor of Psychology who has specialized in Developmental Psychology in the Department of Psychology at King Saud University

He received his PHD in Britain in 1998 from the University of Birmingham in Developmental Psychology. He has also participated in the membership of the administrative board at KING Abdullah Research and Consulting Institute at King Saud University in 2007 up to 2009. He has also participated in the membership of the Advisory Committee for Drugs resistance between 2003 and 2008. Further roles have included being the Family Psychological Advisor at the Ministry of Social Affairs between 2004 and 2008. Dr. Nizar is also a member of the National Family for Counseling and Guidance at the Ministry of Education in 2006. He has chaired the psychological and social variable study group for drug users in 2005 until 2006. He has been an active member of the scholarship student's selection panel at the Ministry Of higher Education in 2006. He participated on the membership of the Scientific Committee of the Early Childhood Conference, Ministry of Education in 2005. He was also a member of a supportive committee that assessed the Department of Psychology at Effat College (Jeddah) in 2003 until 2004. He has also been on a committee to examine the possibility of applying the strategy of education in the Faculty of Education in 2003 until 2004. He has also been an active member of the administrative board of the Saudi Society for Educational and Psychological Science "Justin" and a member of the Preparatory Commission for the tenth annual meeting of the Saudi Society for Educational and Psychological Sciences in 2003. He has chaired the Scientific Committee of the tenth annual meeting of the Saudi Society for Educational and Psychological Sciences in 2003, and chaired the Preparatory Committee for the eleventh annual scientific meeting of the Saudi Society Educational and Psychological Sciences in 2004 until 2005. He was the rapporteur for the commission on scholarships students and lecturer in the psychology department in 2002- 2003, the rapporteur of the Commission study plans in the psychology department for the period of 2002- 2005, and a member of the Graduate Studies Commission in the psychology department during the period of 2002 until 2005.

Dr. Nizar has also examined a wide range of Masters Dissertations and has also arbitrated with a number of businesses who specialize in psychology.  Finally, he has participated in many psychological and educational programs on many satellite channels. Much of his research can be viewed in many publications and journalist contributions across Saudi Arabia.
