Health Rehabilitation may be defined as the multi and interdisciplinary management of a person's function and health. Health rehabilitation is a broad term covering many specialties such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech and hearing, respiratory therapy as well as orthoses and prostheses.
Health rehabilitation focuses on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of disabilities to help individuals live with greater independence. The role of health rehabilitation is to restore function lost due to temporary conditions such as lower back pain, or permanent disabilities, such as traumatic brain injury. It also promotes quality of life for individuals with disabilities through education and prevention programs.
Health rehabilitation services are provided following a referral by a physician, teacher, agency, family member or through self referral.
For the time being we have physical therapy program with two tracks the first bachelor degree and the second is Dr. physical therapy degree which is a new and unique at the same time , it is the first in the middle east. In the near future we are looking for opening other programmes such as speech and hearing, occupational therapy, orthoses and prostheses as well as respiratory therapy .
