Nursing is considered one of the most important health care sectors. Therefore, the department aims at graduating scientifically and practically qualified staff to fulfil the increased demand on health care services and to cope up with the rapid technological and scientific development in the medical services field. The department aspires to equip both male and female students with necessary knowledge through courses which cover the fundamentals of anatomy, physiology, microbiology, pathology, epidemiology, physiological measurement, nutrition, pharmacology, the ethics of the profession, the basics of health care, maternity nursing, gynaecology, medical surgical nursing, psychiatric and mental care, emergency nursing, and primary health care nursing (PHC Nursing). These educational programs are conducted through curricula which include anatomy, tissues, physiology, pathology, basic medicine, medical application for computers, the physics of radiology, applied physics in medical technology, applied mathematics in medical technology, and radiology and medical imaging. |
