 Introduction:

 
The College of Architecture and UrbanPlanning website comes out at a time coinciding with the Inauguration of the University's Main Website by the University Council and with the introduction of a common preliminary year for all new students of the colleges of Architecture and Planning, Engineering and College of Computer Science and Information Sciences. This preparatory year provides intensive courses in English, Mathematics and Computer Skills, and focuses on the development of learning, research and communication skills. The new website also coincides with the college moving into its own premises, a spacious new building expanding over 28000 m2.

Achieving leadership in architecture and urban education, scientific research, and community service through creative faculties and the development of outstanding departments and research centers.


Mission
The implementation of principles of modern management and leadership and the encouragement of a flexible educational and research environment that accommodates modern developments and serves the community.

 
 

 

Faculty Positions in Architecture and Urban Planning 

The College is pleased to announce full time positions in Architecture and Urban Planning at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor.  Principles of Ratio and Symmetry

     
A Workshop on
the Principles of Ratio and Symmetry
in Islamic Architecture

The College of Architecture and Planning-the Department of Architecture and Building Science participated in the training workshop, which was organized by Al-Turath Establishment as part of the cooperation with the Prince of Wales traditional Arts School. Its focus was primarily on ratio and symmetry of Islamic Architecture.

The workshop was held at King AbdulAziz Historic Center in Riyadh during the period between 15-27 Shawwal 1428 H., corresponding October 27-November 8, 2007 G. The participants were:

  • Professor Dr. AbdulAziz Bin Saad Al-Mogren, the Dean of the College.
  • Dr. Osama Al-Johari, The Chairman of Architecture and Building Science Department.
  • Dr. Abdullah Al-Husayyen, Associate Professor of Architecture and Building Science Department.
  • Dr. Imad Otabashi – The History of Islamic Architecture Instructor.
  • The students of the History of Islamic Architecture course.
