College of Architecture and Planning, at  King Saud University, was founded in 1404 H. Department of Architecture and Building Sciences was a core branch of the College, which became the first academic institution for architectural education in the Arabian Peninsula at that time. The department’s formulation goes back to 1387 H, which was one of the departments of the College of Engineering.
