The Mission of the Computer Centre
The College’s educational process is based on firm objectives and principles that primarily focus on strengthening the students’ academic and professional capabilities. Along with the theoretical knowledge supported by a number of courses, students acquire technical skills by using contemporary technologies and means including laboratories that are specifically equipped to support them at various stages of their educational activities such as design, preparation of drawings and presentation of their projects in addition to many other curriculum requirements.
With guidance of Prof. AbdulAziz S. Al-Mogren, the College's Dean, the Computer Centre in the College, because of its increasing importance to the education process as well as the professional fields, receives a continuing and an adequate support. The College spares no effort to provide its students with the most advanced technology. This is reflected in the provision of six computer labs fitted with more than two hundred periodically upgraded computers equipped with the latest programs that support the design and planning process.
The College’s Centre Computer offers, through a team of specialized professionals, the technical support to many of the taught courses, including GIS, Design (4) and Project (3) courses. The Centre also provides printing services for faculty members and students using the latest technologies in this area.
In addition to connecting the computer labs to a local are network, the Computer Centre manages an integrated network system at the level of the College connecting all administration offices, departments and offices of faculty members and their assistants. The Centre also has provided all lecture halls, studios and students workstations with network connections so that students can access all their files and assignments. In addition, the Centre provides Internet service to all faculty members via its link to the University Main Computer Centre. Currently, the Centre is preparing an Internet Lab through which students can access the Web and search for scientific materials that could assist in enriching and developing their educational levels.
