Department Activities

A number of events and activities took place in the department during the last academic year. First of all, The department organised the annual meeting of the Saudi Urban Planning schools heads. A number of important issues were discussed. Academic accreditation was a major topic in the meeting. Secondly, the department recieved a number of visiting professors. They were invited in order strengthen the department links with other Urban Planning schools from around the world. Thirdly, several field trips were made to different regions of the kingdom.

In the current academic year, a number of events are due to take place. The department will participate in the 7th Saudi Engineering Meeting that is to take place in King Saud university in December 2007. A number of field trips had already been organised to the Eastern region of the kingdom. Other field trips are schedueled for the rest of the year. Additionally and during the last week, a workshop dealing with Urban Planning Schools teaching experiences was held. faculty and students will participate in further activities and events.
