Our Goals
- Providing students with the necessary linguistic skills that can enrich their intellectual, cultural, and artistic visions.
- Preparing efficient graduates who can competently meet the needs of both public and private sectors in the field of Arabic language and literature.
- Taking an active part in conducting scholarly researches, and relating such researches to the human and developmental needs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
- Conducting community service and continuing education programs through the performance of various forums, workshops, and training sessions in the field of Arabic language and literature.
- Establishing an academic, scholarly link between the ancient linguistic and intellectual Arabic heritage, on one hand, and the various approaches of modernism on the other.
Thus, The Department of Arabic language is proud that its professors and students occupy important positions in the fields of consultations, written and visual media and in high level governmental institutions. Also, the Department participates in many events despite their orientations and specializations. In addition it has its own future inspirations that it seeks to fulfill. These inspirations include the following: -
1. At The Level Of Initial Graduate Study
· Seeking to develop its curricula and syllabuses continuously and permanent revision of such curricula and syllabuses as to criticize, evaluate and modify them to reach the best and the ideals we want.
· Paying attention that curricula and syllabuses should be consistent with the needs, capabilities and inspirations of students as well as the needs and inspirations of the community.
· Equipping the department with modern lingual laboratories to provide the students with linguist skills according to the most recent and successful equipments.
· Seeking to get our students acquire the high level linguist competencies and to enrich their intellectual, cultural and technical yield to help them building their parallel personalities that are capable of creativity in their different specializations.
· Developing the spirit of citizenship in our students and preparing good citizens who know what their rights are, and perform their duties towards their nation state and citizens. Also getting our students acquire the capability of adapting with their community together with mastering the art of discourse and acceptance of others.
· Preparing the faculty members in behavioral and educational fields and having them attend educational courses to get familiar with the recent educational instruments and successful educational approaches as the teacher is an educator in the first place before being an academic.
· Making the student – professor relationship a close relationship with preserving the prestige and status of the professor.
2: At The Level Of Post Graduate Degree
· The department is looking to fulfill future inspirations at this level represented in the following: -
· Preparing the post graduate students and providing them with sober-minded scientific research skills and bases.
· Seeking to prepare postgraduate students psychologically to accept the research practice as well as taking into one's account that scientific research and practice are part and parcel of our modern community life.
· Establishing a bridge between our lingual heritage and ancient Arab thought on one hand and the modernity with its diversified approaches on the other hand as to establish a comprehensive intellectual renaissance that meets the requirements of this age.
· Inviting visiting professor from Arab universities to give lectures to postgraduate students to inform them about the new approaches in scientific research and the most recent approaches in the in-depth studies.
· Increasing the proportion of non Saudi Arabian students in the post graduates program because this is a religious and national duty to spread the language of the Holy Koran all over the world. Also because it is a promotion for the reputation of the university and its scholar status.
