Brief of Computer Center

First: Previous Status of Equipment at the Computer Center
· Computer Center has passed through several stages in its development path. Since ten years ago, Computer Center was limited to only one computer lab which was containing (22) terminals connected to the central computer and used in statistical analysis by using (AS) program only.
· The development process of the center started by the foundation of the lab of the personal computers (PC) containing (30) computer systems. The process of teaching students the computer usage started by using these systems, and they were also used for teaching subjects of section of Quantitative Methods only.

Second: the Current Status of Computer Labs
After various stages of Computer Labs development, Computer Center is in possession now of (6) Computer Labs as follows:
· A Lab for free training of students containing (60) computers.
· Two Labs for lectures containing (60) computers for each.
· Two Labs for lectures containing (45) computers for each.
· A specialized Lab for higher studies containing (30) computers.

There is also an external Lab at the place of the previous College library containing (30) computers, which is currently being prepared to be Internet Lab for students.

· All these Labs are equipped with modern electronic displaying means that enable the subject professor to utilize all modern means and technologies in teaching.
· An internal network was established to connect computers of all labs, and this network is on the way to be connected to university network.
