The Dean's Message

Peace be upon you and ALLAH's mercy and blessings.
Welcome to the website of the College of Computer Engineering and Sciences at AlKharj.

The world we live in is currently witnessing what is called knowledge era, where computers and communications have become necessities of life, and the basis of the progress of nations and people. Substantial advances in computers has made tremendous changes in the whole world, making the world a small village where one can have access to knowledge in less than a second with a push of a button, it has made it easy to perform many complex operations in just few seconds. There is no aspect of modern life without computer intervention and being fundamental pivot in it. The use of computers has become one of the most important requirements of different disciplines and in employment. States and Governments' rely on computers and communications is one of the most important pillars of the reason for its development, without it states becomes undeveloped and stands at the back of the modern world.

This has pushed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia since the early time to catch up, create a great evolution in this field, to pay attention to the establishment of infrastructures, and provision of the necessary requirements. The government has strengthened universities with many colleges, institutes and research centers in this field. Among the government's efforts is the royal decree No. 8626 on 27/9/1428h for the establishment of the College of Computer Engineering and Science at AlKharj, affiliated to King Saud University. The College have the same financial, administrative, and academic arrangements as the other institutes of the University. With the issuance of approval to begin the study in the beginning of the academic year 1429- 1430h the College of Engineering and Computer Science at ALKharj became a reality for all, where it will grant bachelor's degrees in four disciplines: Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, and Software Engineering Engineering.

The college has a large number of distinguished faculty members, as it seeks to attract leading scientists in different disciplines altogether. The study plans for all Departments are on a level and keep pace with developments in the field. In preparing and updating the study plans we have taken into account to be in line with global requirements for academic accreditation, as well as to conform with international universities excellence in the field. There are a large number of college laboratories equipped with modern and advanced techniques, such as sophisticated computer labs, control systems lab, embedded systems, and microprocessors along with the other labs.
