Unit of student rights protection

Objective of the unit

University aims by establishing the unit to achieve a homogenized academic environment, in the spirit of mutual cooperation among its affiliates, the adoption of principles of justice and fairness as an essential pillar in building a perfect society within the university, as well as support the rights of students on a basis consistent with applicable laws and regulations, and does not contradict with it, the role of the unit is not considered to substitute or circumvent it, but the Unit performs its role within the framework of regulations in force without leading to the cancellation of some of its texts or disrupt its operation.

In order to achieve the above mentioned goals, the unit is working on developing the culture of justice and equity among students, providing them with the necessary consultations, envisioning them to their rights in the university, and how to obtain them through legal and official channels in the university, within the framework of the rules and regulations of the university.

Pillars of the unit

Prepare a document called the (student rights declaration) includes an integrated system of rights and duties, the student must sign as soon as he enter the university, the objective of signing is not only an obligation for the student of its contents, but acknowledging him of its contents in advance before entering the university so that he can stick to his rights in the event of an injustice. For the current students, they are given the opportunity to sign the document and keep a copy in their files.

The complaint should be considered in two phases: first phase starts through sub-committees for the protection of student rights established in the university colleges, where to look into complaints of students while they continue their studies at university, later they can complain in a second phase to the central unit.

Taking into account the primacy of the legal component to form a central unit for the protection of student rights.

Student participation through the inclusion of a representative of the students to the membership of the student rights protection committees in different colleges.

The committee is responsible for the consideration of complaints and grievances student written according to the following:

Student complaints concerning physical errors in the monitoring of the degrees of final exams, without the right to exposure to the discretion of assessments of the faculty member who corrected the exam.

Student complaints concerning arbitrary and ill-treatment by faculty members.

Complaints related to deprive students of services provided for other similar students.
