We Celebrate our Golden Jubilee College Headlines

This year marks the Golden Jubilee of the College of Pharmacy. For fifty years now, the College has been committed to teaching, conducting research, and providing services to the public in areas unique to the practice of pharmacy and to the pharmaceutical sciences.  To mark the significance of this milestone in Saudi healthcare, this occasion coincides with the introduction of the Pharm. D. program.

  • New Mission for Prof. Bekairi
  • Prof. Abdullah Al-Bekairi, the Ex-Dean of the college, has embarked on a new challenging mission. Prof. Al-Bekairi has been appointed by His Excellency Prof. Abdullah Al-Othman, the University Rector, as Vice-Rector for University Colleges in Al-Kharj, Al-Aflaj and Wadi Al-Dawaser. He was also appointed as the Dean of College of Medicine in Al-Kharj. Congratulations to Prof. Al-Bekairi in this new task.

     

     

  • Dr. Asiri is the New Dean:
  • Dr. Yosef Abdo Asiri has been appointed by His Excellency Prof. Abdullah Al-Othman, the University Rector, to be the new Dean of the College of Pharmacy for the next two years. Dr. Asiri was acting as the Vice-Dean for Academic Affairs prior to the new appointment.

     

     

  • Al-Sultan Presides over the SPS
  • Dr. Mohammad S. Al-Sultan, the Assistant Professor at the Department of Clinical Pharmacy, has been elected as the new Chairman of the Board of the Saudi Pharmaceutical Society.

     

     

  • Dr. Kadi Vice Dean For Development & QA
  • A new vice dean for quality and development was appointed, he will be coordinating the College of Pharmacy's efforts to develop it's resources, facilities, and products, and to improve the level of service it is committed to provide to the community.

     

     

     

  • The Dean meets with Research Chair Sponsor
  • Dean Asiri met on Dec. 4th with Dr. Walid Kayyali the generous sponsor of Pharmaceutical Industry Research Chair.

     

     

  • New Chairman of Clinical Pharmacy:
  • Dr. Mohammad S. Al-Sultan has been selected by the Dean of the College of Pharmacy as the Chairman of the Department of Clinical Pharmacy.

 Collaboration between Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and Our College

Monahan from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (MCPHS) in USA, who was accompanied by Dr. George Humphrey, Vice President for College Relations, and Dr. Caroline Zeind, Chair and Professor of Pharmacy Practice at MCPHS-Boston during their visit to KSU. “This collaboration will provide both institutions with a unique opportunity to develop cross-cultural and international perspectives on pharmaceutical care.”

H.E. University Rector Inaugurates Dr. Kayyali Research Chair

 

 

His Excellency Professor Abdullah A. Al-Othman, the University Rector, inaugurated Dr. Walid A. Al-Kayyali Chair for Pharmaceutical Manufacturing. This research chair was established this year with a generous donation of SR 5 million within the pharmaceutical Technology Center under the auspices of the Department of Pharmaceutics at the College of Pharmacy. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Dr. Walid Al-Kayyali the owner of Al-Haya Medical Company (AMCO), Prof. Ali Al-Ghamdi the Vice Rector for research and Dr. Yosef Abdo Asir, the Dean of College of Pharmacy.

The College prepares for ISO 9001:2000

 

 

The college of pharmacy has been chosen for a university-wide program to certify a select number of university sectors for the quality management system certificate (ISO 9001:2000). The college is currently participating in weekly sessions at the deanship for quality in the university to help obtaining the certificate in the near future. Dr. Adnan Kadi the Vice-Dean for Development & Quality Assurance is actively involved in this task.
