Foreword
The Saudi Society for Geosciences welcomes all participants in the 7th Meeting of the society at King Saud University Campus. We hope that this meeting will provide us with unique opportunities to discuss and exchange ideas and thoughts related to earth sciences and sustainable development in Saudi Arabia.
Fifty two scientific papers in the current meeting cover different subjects which are related primarily to earth sciences as follows :
6 abstracts in Remote Sensing & GIS applications
4 abstracts discuss the geology of the Arabian Shield and Red Sea
14 abstracts cover Stratigraphy and Hydrocarbon Exploration
6 abstracts related to Mineral Exploration
12 abstracts discuss application of geophysical techniques in solving geological problems.
6 abstracts are related to groundwater resources and modeling.
4 abstracts discuss environmental impact and geohazards.
All the aforementioned abstracts will certainly add great knowledge to the progress of the scientific community as well as to decision makers. In addition, an exhibition will accompany the meeting. Several agencies from governmental and private sectors will partici-pate in the exhibition.
