Welcome to the College of Science’s website.

  The College which was established in 1958 has seen tremendous growth over the years.  When the College moved into its present building, it added several new departments such as the Department of Statistics, and the Department of Biochemistry.

  In addition, new fields of specialization were added including astronomy, microbiology, geophysics, and operations research.  New programs have also been initiated such as the NSC Program in Biological Variety, and the NSC Program in Environmental Sciences. 

The number of students has increased considerably, especially in the last few years.

  Today there are more than 2,800 students enrolled in the College.  The College also offers a variety of courses attracting 40,000 students in every academic year from the colleges of Computer and Information Sciences, Arts, and Foods and Agriculture.

   The College has 445 distinguished faculty members, and a large number of support staff, teaching assistants, technicians, and research assistants.

The College’s research center was established in 1977.  It provides state-of-the art laboratories for members of staff and post-graduate students.  

We plan in our future endeavors to continue providing essential research that supports the Kingdom’s scientific, technological, and economic advancement.
