Fatty Acids in Seeds of Four Cultivars of Date Palm Tree

Chloroform: methanol extract of seeds of four date palm cultivars (phoenix datylifera L.) namely Khedri , Sekkeri, Menifi, and Nabt-Saif were subjected to gas liquid chromatography analysis. It was found that the major fatty acid was Oleic acid ranging from 43.53% to 51.89% according to the cultivar. Laruic acid , myristic acid and palmitic acid acid were found to be in the range 0f = 10-20 % . Smaller quantities of seventeen other fatty acids ( including seven as yet unidentified) were also reported.

تم تحليل مستخلص كلوروفورم وميثانول بذور اربعه اصناف من النخيل وهي خضري وسكري ومنيفي ونبت سيف بوساطه جهاز التحليل اللوني سائل – غاز حيث وجد ان الحمض الدهني الرئيسي هو حمض الاولييك ( 43,53 -51,89 % حسب الصنف ) .

اما حموض اللوريك والميريستك والبالمتيك فقد تراوحت النسبه مابين 10-20 % هذا بالاضافه الى كميات قليله من سبعه عشر حمضا دهنيا وسبعه حموض اخرى لم تعرف في هذا البحث .
