Specificities of pectolytic enzymes produced by Verticillium tricorpus

The production of the pectolytic enzymes complex-endopolygalacturonaase, exopolygalacturonase and pectin lyase in a strain of Verticillium tricorpus was studied in vitro, in cultures grown on pectin and sodium polypectate. The seretion coincided in time for endopolygalacturonase increased in the pectin medium not in parallel with groth of the culture, wherease the activity of pectin layes was associated with culture growth. Gelation of the sodium polypectate medium was observed but to a lesser degree. The significance of induction on pectin and sodium polypectate is discussed.
