A Word from the Head:
The idea of launching the English Club at the community college is inspired by the importance of the English language nowadays; it is window to the world and is the leading language of sciences, technology, computers, commerce and the global data. The club also provides students of English Language and students of other majors with opportunities to improve and upgrade their potentials in the four skills of language: reading, writing, speaking and listening. Furthermore, the club seeks to create a teaching environment similar to that of the English native speakers.
In conclusion, I’d like to extend my sincere thanks and gratitude to the Dean of the college Dr. Rashid Al-Rshoud for his on-going and valuable guidance and advice.

History:
The English Language Club, one of the most vital and effective centers at the college, was officially opened on 1st Dhul-Qe’edah 1428 AH by Dr. Rashed Al-Rshoud, the dean of the college. The inauguration of the club was followed by a simple reception graced by the dean, some teaching staff and a number of students. The teaching staff at the English department will be running the centre.
Objectives:
- Enhancing and upgrading students’ skills in English.
- Putting students into a new environment resembling the English language of native speakers.
- Promoting students’ concern in learning language.
- Improving students’ performance and potentials in the four skills: Reading, writing, listening and speaking.
-Encouraging out of class activities.
Teaching Aids:
The club includes the following teaching aids:
- computers
- internet
-data show
-TV and video sets
-recorders
-English library of audio-visual teaching aids, in addition to English magazines and newspapers.
Activities:
- presenting literary plays and novels.
- carrying out some competitions: poetry recitation, writing short story.
-conducting English evening seminars
