Welcome to Computer Engineering Department website. Our department is one of the first Computer Engineering departments world wide and the first in the Kingdome. It was established as part of Electrical Engineering Department in 1982. It then became a major department in the college of computer and information sciences which was established in 1984.

The mission of the Department of Computer Engineering is to develop and maintain Computer Engineering programs of excellence in teaching and research. These programs will provide the needed academic and professional know how.

Our newly developed plan provides an outstanding educational curriculum that enables our graduates to become leaders in their profession by imparting fundamental principles, skills, and tools to innovate and excel.

Graduates of our department have a comprehensive, state-of-the-art education in all areas related to the specialization which include design, maintenance and analysis of Communication and Networks, Digital Systems, Microprocessor- based control systems, and Signal Processing.

In addition our department educates master students in the graduate program to do meaningful research so that they may become leaders in industry, government laboratories, and academia.
