Welcome to the Information Technology Department Home Page.
The Information Technology Department officially opened in 1408 H ~ 1987 G. At that time it was strictly an undergraduate program under the name of “Computer Applications”, consisting of 60 students. I was one of those students and I am very proud to be amongst the first graduates of the department in 1412 H ~ 1992 G.
In 1425 H ~ 2005 G the name of the department was modified to “Information Technology” and with that change a new curriculum was offered. It then was my responsibility – as the head of the department – to see to a smooth transition to the new curriculum.
Our mission in the Information Technology Department is
“To prepare individuals to be skilled professionals in the IT field who have the necessary logical, analytical, technical, and communication skills to be competitive in the work place. And to raise awareness about the various applications of IT that are needed in our society.”
