
Being committed to the society, the College of Computer and Information Sciences (CCIS) at King Saud University is concerned with offering distinguished educational, training and research services. Throughout its twenty-year-old age, CCIS has been thriving to achieve this goal and fulfill its commitments. Many aspects of this commitment have been achieved in the past twenty years.
Today, many of the qualified Saudi professional in the local computing field are proud to be graduates of CCIS either at the BS or MS level. Due to the high demand for such qualified professionals all over the Kingdom, CCIS is continually offering more graduate-level degrees in the various computing specializations.
In addition, CCIS has now started to offer specialized training courses in several areas for specialized professionals. Numerous applied research and consultation service projects have been completed for the benefit of the public and private sectors in the computer and information technology field.
The College laboratories are continuously expanded in both quantity and quality. State-of-the-art computers, networks, and computer engineering equipment and design software are made available to CCIS students. In addition, efforts are underway to fully automate the administrative work in the College to improve the work environment and provide better services to CCIS staff and faculty.
CCIS is now working on adopting E-learning technologies and utilizing them for all its courses. Student course and instructor evaluation is now regularly conducted each semester to provide up-to-date feedback on the quality of the educational process in the College. CCIS is also working on acquiring international accreditation for its academic programs.
Finally, we at CCIS believe that what has been achieved in the past twenty years is only the beginning. We all work hard to materialize our ambitions for an even brighter future for our College.
