Welcome to the virtual home of the Postgraduate Dental Education.

The University currently regards the Postgraduate Dental Education (PGDE) program in King Saud University as a Joint Graduate Program in the College of Dentistry with nine specialties in it.  Since it started in 1989, a sizeable number of specialists had graduated from the nine specialty training tracks offered.  Each successful candidate obtained a Master of Science degree in Dentistry and a Certificate of Clinical Competence in the particular dental specialty.  The graduates of the Postgraduate Dental Education program as at today are 120 (31 males and 89 females).   These graduates are now serving as full-time dentists or academicians in various health care facilities and educational institutions. 

Admission into the PGDE of King Saud University implies some obligations and expectations on the part of the students and the teachers.  It is the primary responsibility of the institution (i.e. the College) to provide appropriate resources, facilities and opportunities to students for learning and for specializing in a postgraduate program.  The students must reciprocate by satisfying the requirements clearly laid down for the Master of Science degree in Dentistry and the Certificate of Clinical Competency in the specialty.  This should be accomplished within the time specified for the training program which is three years and two inclusive summers. 

Let me take this opportunity to acknowledge the enormous effort and support of the current and former Deans of this College and the College Administration. I extend my recognition and profound appreciation to our erstwhile Directors of the Postgraduate Dental Education, PROF. MOHAMMED HAMDI-AL TAHAWI who initiated the program to reality, PROF. YOUSEF F. TALIC and PROF. HEZEKIAH A. MOSADOMI for their exemplary work in the administration of the Directorate and their continuous immeasurable support and commitment which lead to the success of all the graduate programs.
