Program Description
The two and a half year diploma program will fulfill university requirements and consist of didactic and practical components:
1. The didactic component will cover the appropriate sciences and theoretical background to support all of the Applied Dental Technology in the course.
2. The practical component will cover the correct procedures and techniques for the fabrication, adaptation, and repair of a wide range of dental prosthesis and appliances in the fields of:
o Removable technology
o Fixed technology
o Orthodontics technology
o Maxillofacial technology
This program will also include insights into advanced materials and techniques. As a whole, the program will give emphasis on the concepts, principles, indications, and limitations of designs, techniques, and materials used to fabricate the prosthesis and appliances. Also the importance of professionalism, communication, self-critical evaluation, critical evaluation of clinical requirements, responding to changes in dentistry and continuing education.
Pre-Requisites of Students
* Possess appropriate academic capability (GPA in high school)
* Demonstrate manual dexterity, accuracy and neatness (Practical Test)
* Possess enthusiasm, commitment and an inquiring mind (Interview)
