Organization and Management of the Program
The University Diploma Programs were organized by, and under the management of the College of Dentistry and affiliated to it. The students will be privileged to benefit from the considerable academic expertise available to the students of the College of Dentistry; training alongside the Saudi dentists of the future will enhance their ability to work in harmony together.

Overview
The practice of modern dentistry requires a further level of professionally educated personnel in support services. Experiences not only in the Kingdom but also in other parts of the world have demonstrated that dental assistants and technicians can become a necessary and valued member of the team, and should be afforded a formal training in a duly accredited institution of higher education.
Furthermore, with the increasing number of students enrolled, and the rapidly expanding academic and clinical programs upon which the College of Dentistry has embarked, it is felt that the emphasis of dependence on contract auxiliary workers should be shifted in favor of the Saudization of support services.
The rapidly expanding government and private agency dental health care programmes and the increase in private dental clinics in the Kingdom should ensure a continuing demand for qualified dental auxiliary staff and dental lab technicians in the future.
Hence, it is foreseen that a University Diploma Programme in Dental Assisting (DADP) and Dental Laboratory Technology Program (DLTP) will make a significant contribution towards fulfilling the Kingdom's manpower needs in the years to come.
