Advisory Services and Education
The role of the College is not limited to training and preparing qualified dentists to provide dental services at the health care institutions in the Kingdom, but it also provides advisory services to the governmental and private sectors. These services take many forms including:
- involvement of faculty members in numerous advisory and executive committees outside the University.
- cooperating with the governmental sectors allowing faculty members to transfer scientific and practical expertise to the various state sectors in the health field, through a loan system.
- participation of faculty members in private practice as part-time consultants.
- participation of faculty members in the organization and supervision of the Specialty Training Programs run by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.
- cooperation of faculty members with Saudi and foreign countries as evaluators for master and doctoral degree theses.
In order to have competent graduates, intensive clinical training is required for all the undergraduate students, postgraduate students and dentists enrolled in the Saudi Specialty Certificate Programs. In all the clinical sessions, dental treatment is provided by the trainees to appropriate educational cases and supervised by the College faculty members. |
