Visiting Professor from University of Minnesota in the Department of Maxillofacial Surgery and Diagnostic Sciences

Upon an invitation from the Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology Division, Department of Maxillofacial Surgery and Diagnostic Sciences, Dr. Ahmad Mansur, Associate professor, Division of Oral Medicine and Diagnosis, Department of Diagnostic and Biological sciences, School of Dentistry, University of Minnesota, USA visited King Saud University on Nov. 24-29 2007. The visit included several academic activities:

·        Dr. Mansur gave a lecture to the college staff on: Research Diagnostic Criteria for Temporomandibular Disorders (RDC/TMD).

·        He also gave lectures to the undergraduate and postgraduate students.

·        The department staff also held a meeting with Dr. Mansur to review and discuss undergraduate courses and ways to develop them.

·        The visiting professor and the postgraduate students as well as the college interns met to discuss research projects of mutual interest.

·        Several clinical-radiological case discussion sessions were conducted.

·        At the end of the visit, a lunch was hosted by the college dean and vise deans on the behalf of Dr. Mansur and memorable gifts were exchanges. In his speech, Dr. Mansur expressed his thanks to King Saud University for inviting him and said that he was happy to meet the staff and students of the university and that he was amazed by the advanced academic level that the university has reached in this field. He wished that the cooperation between King Saud University and the University of Minnesota continues and grows over the coming years.
