Chemical Engineering Fields in Saudi Arabia

  • The department is established on 1974 to offer Bsc degree in chemical engineering

  • The Master of science program in chemical engineering started in 1981

  • The Doctor of philosophy program in chemical engineering started in 1997

  • The Master of science program in polymer engineering started in 2008

 

  • Vast and growing chemical and petrochemical industries

  • Oil Refineries and Oil & Gas Processing

  • Material and Mineral Processing (phosphates, uranium, iron ...etc.)

  • Water desalination plants

  • Industrial waste treatment

  • Extractive metallurgy (iron, gold, aluminum)

  • The department organized its first meeting with the Indsutrial Advisory borad on 4/5/2009. 

  • The CHE Student Council organized a seminar entitled "It is Time to Change" delivered by Eng. Abdulrazzaq alShammary on 19/4/2009.

  • The CHE Student Council had their first meeting with the chairman on 28/3/2009.  more ...

  • The department hosted the first Alumni meeting on 3/3/2009 at the Alshurfah restaurant.  more ...

  • The senior students along with Dr. Farag and Eng. Abdulrazzaq visited SABIC Hadeed Plant on 20/1/2009.

  • Congratulations: Eng. Ahmed Alarafi defended his PhD dissertation on 31/1/2009 to be the fourth recieving the degree from the Department.

  • The graduating students, chairman and few professors visited Aljouf Cement Plant on 5/1/2009.

  • New Research Chair entitled "Occupational and Environmental Hazardous of Medical Gases" is established under the sponsorship of KSU and coordination by Dr. Waheed AlMasry.

  • On 25/11/2008, the social and student affair committee selected Fahd albishi, Suliman alfehaid, Bassam alaseri and Ibrahim alghaslan as the student's members of the committe for the academic year 2008-2009 (1429-1430H)
