Electrical Engineering Industrial Advisory Board (EEIAB)

Mission

The mission of the EEIAB is to provide guidance, advice and support to assist the achievement of the goals and objectives of the Electrical Engineering Department. The Board provides an effective linkage between the Department and alumni and industry.

Outcome

  • Provide advice and assistance to the Department in the development and maintenance of an assessment plan to needed for ABET accreditation.
  • Provide an independent, constructive assessment of the program and activities of the Department including a review of items such as:  faculty; curriculum; students; administration; equipment and facilities; and alumni/industrial relations.
  • Assist providing “Summer Training” and in selecting and implementing graduation projects for our students. Such projects should be linked to the industrial needs in the Kingdom.

Organization

The duties of the officers shall be as follows:

  • The Board Chair shall preside at all meetings and act as an official representative of the Board at any function requiring such a representative.
  • The Secretary shall issue all notices, and shall be responsible for all records of the  Board, including an official copy of the Board's By-Laws. The Secretary shall keep the roll of active members which shall be called at each meeting, shall keep the minutes of the Board meetings, and shall handle routine correspondence of the Board.
  • The EEIAB is composed of six members from industry and similar number from EE academic staff.
  • Members of the EEIAB are selected from among the senior engineers of the electrical engineering community.
  • Board members will be selected by the EE faculty and appointed by the EE Dept. Chair.
  • Members will serve for a two-year term (normal), which can be renewed.
  • New members can be nominated by any Board member or EE faculty member.
  • The EEIAB  membership should be annually approved by the EE Dept. Board

 

Meetings

  • The EEIAB will two annual meetings.
  • The EEIAB Chair and Department Chairperson shall set the agenda for each meeting and distribute the minutes.
  • Any EEIAB member or EE faculty member can submit items for the agenda.
