Dean’s Message

Welcome to the website of the College of Engineering of King Saud University. The College of Engineering is one of the oldest colleges in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.  Established in 1962, it is now more than 45 years old. Many changes and developments mark these 45 years of growth and accomplishments.  

The College was established with three departments offering B.Sc. programs. Today, the College departments offer eight B.Sc.  programs and post-graduate studies leading to the M. Sc. and PhD degrees.  There are more than 4,500 students and over 200 faculty members. The College hires teaching faculty of the highest quality from the Kingdom and abroad.  In addition, the College attracts the best students to work as teaching assistants.  These students are encouraged to pursue further studies abroad at distinguished universities with excellent doctoral programs. 

 
The College strives for excellence within the classroom as well as in the numerous activities it holds within the community.  Students and faculty are provided with laboratories of the highest quality so that they might pursue advanced research.  In addition, the College holds, conducts, and offers numerous workshops, seminars, training courses, and conferences for local and international participants. The College also enjoys a strong partnership with industry and the government.  

As a result of joint research with SABIC, as an example, SABIC endowed a chair in polymers research.  The College always strives to educate fine engineers while maintaining close working relationships with numerous business and community leaders.
