Graduate Studies
The college of engineering offers graduate programs in various fields in order to cope with scientific progress and to provide the Kingdom with highly skilled specialists needed for the ambitious development plans. The University Council endorsed the initiation of graduate programs in all departments of the College since the academic year 1401/1402 A. H.. The graduate programs offered by the departments are as follows:
Chemical Engineering Department:
M. Sc. in chemical engineering
Ph.D. in chemical engineering
Civil Engineering Department:
M. Sc. in civil engineering
Ph. D. in civil engineering
Electrical Engineering Department:
M. Sc. in electrical engineering
Ph.D. in electrical engineering
Mechanical Engineering Department:
M. Sc. in mechanical engineering
Industrial Engineering Department
M. Sc. in industrial engineering
Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering Department:
M. Sc. program in petroleum engineering
Admission Requirements
Applicants for the M. Sc. degree programs are required to have a B.Sc. degree in engineering with an overall grade of "very good" from King Saud University or any other accepted academic institution. Applicants with an overall rating of "good" can be conditionally accepted. The M Sc degree requirements include 24 units of coursework in addition to a thesis or 42 units of course work in the non thesis option.
Applicants for the Ph.D. degree programs are required to have M.Sc. degree in engineering with an overall grade of "very good" from King Saud University or any other accepted academic institution in addition to GRE and proficiency in English language. The degree requirements for the Ph.D. degree include 18 units of course work in addition to a comprehensive exam and a Ph.D. thesis.
