Department and objectives
Department 1358 originatedbegan to grow rapidly since its inception four stages, in the first phase contributed to the decisions in the agricultural economy and rural society to graduate students until the General Division in 1395 H, and started the second phase of96/1397 where he graduated from the department and the focus of the first batch comprising 29 students and third phase is the stage of specialization in the agricultural economy and rural society, which began in 1401/1402 and was the firstgraduates 18 students, and continued to tender the first semester 1410/1411began the fourth phase separation of the Department of Economics, agricultural extension to be part of the graduation of the independent specialists in agricultural economics .
Aimed at the agricultural economy of its students by providing them with scientific and intellectual knowledge of agricultural and economic rules that qualifies them to be researchers and economists to contribute to the management, organization and implementation of development programs in general economic and agricultural development in particular, and the department is very hard to try to overcome the problems of the Saudi society in the areas of agricultural economics and to provide solutions appropriate through a number of scientific research and provide consultancy and training courses, and participate in numerous conferences and seminars at home and abroad.

The salient features of the Department
There is a special center department is the information on the subsidiaries of the agricultural economy that combines letters and research master's graduate students, as well as official bulletins. It is worth mentioning the existence of a laboratory analysis of statistics and quantitative results of its services to all departments of the other college.
Teaching laboratories:
Attributed to the particular laboratory and statistical analysis of teaching, this lab is equipped with a number of personal computers used by students in the performance of practical exercises and training and is equipped with the latest software used in the service of the scientific goals of the Department and possibly some other departments of this lab is also used in lectures and in particular to graduate students.
Research laboratories:
Department includes a room, especially the work of faculty members of the department and graduate students in order to complete their research and scientific studies and communications, and it is worth mentioning that all the units in the computer and then join these two rooms to the total available to researchers as well as a number of new imaging machines and a number of laser printers color scanner and the unity and integrity of automated fax.
Admission requirements in department
1 - that the student has completed the first three levels of success.
2 - The rate of not less than 2.5 cumulative student.

Bachelor's degree: Major Agricultural Sciences - specialization sub-agricultural economy - a period of four years of study - the number of hours of study (141) hours.
Master's degree: Major agricultural economy - the sub-specialized agricultural economy - the study period of three years - the number of hours of study (33) hours.
The areas of training:
The implementation of the Program Department field visits for students of the many areas of applied work which is expected to be staffed by graduates of these visits take place under the supervision of faculty members, lecturers and lecturers among them Arab Company for Livestock Development, the fruits of the company, the National Company for Agricultural Development (NADEC), Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Riyadh, the Saudi Arabian Agricultural Bank, the Ministry of Planning.

Advisory services
Department provides a number of consultations in the areas of specialization at the level of the Faculty's departments and consultancies in relation to the statistical and quantitative analysis and design experiments as well as its cooperation with the government sectors and national and international bodies in the conduct of many studies, such as: King Abdul Aziz City for Science and Technology and the Regional Office for the Near East FAO and Agriculture of the United Nations (FAO FAO) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Water and research centers involved and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Riyadh.
Educational services
Pay particular attention to the educational services that increase the efficiency of the students, through the implementation of a detailed program of field visits to many areas of work in the agricultural and food companies specialized training is also part of his students who are on the verge of graduation, through the skills necessary for scientific research, writing and discussing the reports of field research and a way scientific and objective, and follows a special laboratory department of Statistics and quantitative analysis, equipped with the latest computers to be used for the purposes of teaching and research practice.

Interested in the agro-economic research conducted in many research areas, including marketing of agricultural production economics, agricultural costs, the economic feasibility analysis, prices, farm management, time series analysis of prices and quantities, the level of agricultural policies on the farms or the agricultural sector. Department and also give special attention to research-related branches of the agricultural economy such as marketing of agricultural and farm management, agricultural finance, natural resources, planning and evaluation of agricultural projects and economic feasibility studies, economics and production costs. The department has recently an extensive study on the expected impacts of the Kingdom's accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO) on the agricultural sector and the strategy of agriculture in Saudi Arabi
