Animal Production Department
Brief
Farm animals and Poultry are extremely important sources of human food. The department of animal production deals with the academic and applied aspects of animal and poultry production researches, breeding and genetic improvements, and management and diseases control. The department concentrates on research oriented towards increasing animal productivity in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The staff members published approximately 350 researches.

The Department of Animal Production seeks to pursue an outstanding scientific centre in teaching & Research, and community service; in the field of animal production.
Mission
The activities of the Department of Animal Production are to foster and compliment the graduation of specialized scientists, advancement of science and knowledge, conducting scientific research and providing services and programs that improve the life of the community and contribute to the development of livestock industry in the kingdom.
Objectives
ü Providing quality undergraduates and graduates who are able to respond the needs and challenges of Job market in the field of animal production.
ü Conducting quality research and studies based on maximum utilization of modern sciences and technology in the field of animal production.
ü The Department of Animal Production recognizes that graduate’s qualifications must meet the needs and aspiration of the kingdom in the animal production and poultry fields. It is implementing a cooperative education program through which students’ alternate study with training, thereby gaining technical and hands on experience as part of the regular academic program to enhance career preparation.
Graduates from the Department of Animal Production will have the following qualifications in the future:
ü Excellent academic and training programs in order to serve the needs of the kingdom in the animal production and poultry fields.
ü Hands on experience with computers.
ü Hands on experience with the usage of English language.
ü Ability to communicate and desire to continuous self-learning and depend upon self-confidence skills in practical life.
